Bridge Thermoplastics is a Derbyshire-based plastic extrusion company producing a wide variety of rigid and flexible profiles, with custom extrusions a speciality. The company has been producing extruded plastic products since 1986.
The company’s expertise in manufacturing specialist extrusions is built on many years of experience and the business aims to work as part of a team to ensure that products and services always meet the highest quality. In recent months Qualitrain has also been part of that team, working alongside management and staff at Bridge Thermoplastics to jointly develop and implement Lean practices throughout the production process. A number of key personnel have also gained NVQs in Business Improvement Techniques to ensure positive change remains a continuous process.
A crucial part of the program was to identify and fix Standard Operating Procedures so that all production activities could be more rigorously tested against an agreed benchmark. Tangible results have included a measurable increase in Customer Satisfaction – vital in an increasingly competitive market. The business has also found that, with less time spent on day to day production issues, more time is now available for more positive activities in Sales and New Product Development.
