Functional Skills from Qualitrain

Introduction

Functional Skills training, formerly known as Key Skills training, provides a flexible but firm foundation for further work-based study and training and is suited to candidates from any background.

What are Functional Skills?

Functional Skills courses are part of a nationally recognised programme which aims to give learners from every type of background the basic skills they will need in order to succeed in a range of activities such as education, training, work and life in general. They are highly flexible and transferable skills which offer great benefits for trainees and employers, providing an excellent framework for more advanced training and a happier, more capable, and more motivated workforce.

Functional Skills qualifications can:

 give employees more confidence in their own abilities
 help employees to move on to other training or qualifications
 provide an assessed, acknowledged and measurable means of demonstrating employee achievement
 enable employers to offer meaningful and very worthwhile training support of every member of staff

Functional Skills qualifications are designed to be taken by anyone, from a school pupil to a CEO, but Qualitrain will ensure Functional Skills programmes are delivered in a way which reflects the needs and environment of your business, now and in the future.

There are no minimum entry requirements, and Key Skills can be studied alongside other types of qualifications, such as NVQs, Apprenticeships, and Foundation Degrees.
