Business Improvement Training

Business is increasingly done on a global scale and all businesses, whatever their size, have to work hard to remain competitive and retain their customers. We all need to learn what matters most to our customers and how to meet their needs. And we need to know how to manage our suppliers and ensure they continue to meet our needs.

Business Improvement Techniques (BIT) is an adult apprenticeship framework programme aimed at any age group, which helps question how we work, how we communicate, and how we can become better at what we do, whatever our role in the business concerned. It teaches the skills which enable candidates to become better able to identify and solve the problems that, left unchallenged, will compromise quality and profit margins.

BIT training programmes will between 12 and 18 months and the Qualitrain training team works very closely with all the candidates with most of the training taking place ‘on the job’ whilst normal work continues, so there will be as little disruption as possible.

“Based on our experience, we have found a unique training partner in Qualitrain and we feel their unrivalled commitment to our business and its people is richly deserving of recognition.”

Nevertheless, this is quite a substantial programme of training and it requires commitment from candidates and senior management. Topics covered include:

  • Health and safety
  • Leading effective teams
  • 5S workplace organisation
  • Visual management
  • Problem solving
  • Continuous improvement (Kaizen)
  • Flow process analysis
  • Standard operating procedures

Qualitrain ensures that all of these are firmly tied to the day-to-day activities within each business (we don’t do ‘tick-box’ training!), so the training feels very familiar and relevant.

“Qualitrain has been involved within every aspect of our business, proactively seeking answers to questions, challenging our assumptions when necessary, and always ensuring they had the information they required to create a programme that is challenging to our employees and which has now created a really positive buzz within the workplace.”
