This occupation is found in the Logistics, Retail, Manufacturing, Automotive, Construction, Chemical and pharmaceutical sectors. It will also be found in all services within the MOD. Warehouse Operatives may work in several different industries and a range of buildings from 5,000 to 1,000,000 square. feet.

 

Who Is It For?

In their daily work, an employee in this occupation interacts with team Leaders and Warehouse Supervisors, Stock Control Administrators, Incoming Delivery Drivers, Outgoing Delivery Drivers, Customers making collections, Data Management Assistants, Sales and Marketing representatives, Planners and Project Managers, Buyers and Procurement Managers. A Warehouse Operative will be supervised by a Team Leader, Warehouse Supervisor or Shift Manager.

  Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to inventory, orders, or warehouse processes.

  Teamwork: Collaboration with colleagues and other departments to achieve overall supply chain goals.

  Organisational Skills: Efficient organisation of the warehouse space to optimise storage and retrieval processes. Sorting and categorising items based on type, size, or other relevant criteria. 

  Time Management: Prioritising tasks to meet deadlines and ensure timely order fulfillment. Efficient use of time to maximize productivity. 

  Quality Control: Inspecting incoming and outgoing goods for quality and quantity. Reporting and addressing any discrepancies or damages.

Qualification:

An EPA is an assessment at the end of your apprenticeship. It will assess you against the knowledge, skills, and behaviours (KSBs) in the occupational standard. Your training will cover the KSBs. The EPA is your opportunity to show an independent assessor how well you can carry out the occupation you have been trained for. Your employer will choose an end-point assessment organisation (EPAO) to deliver the EPA. Your employer and training provider should tell you what to expect and how to prepare for your EPA
