The IT & Communications industry is one of, if not the highest growing sectors in the UK today. In an ever increasingly digital world only accelerated by the covid-19 pandemic, a tenth of all UK job vacancies are now tech roles.¹This is why we are pleased to announce that Qualitrain now deliver the Level 3 Information Communication Technician Apprenticeship.

The ongoing covid-19 pandemic saw many companies very survival based on changing the way they operate and taking new aspects of the company online, almost instantaneously. The use of videoconferencing and collaboration software substantially increased, as businesses navigated their way through the remote working environment. Additionally, the demand for cloud storage and cloud-based software also rose, as businesses moved to increase their off-site capabilities.²More workers skilled in IT & Communications are now needed to support this rapid development.

Level 3 Information Communication Technician Apprenticeship

Fully funded by the Apprenticeship Levy, the Level 3 Information Communication Technician Apprenticeship provides the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for today’s crucial tech roles. This Apprenticeship provides the opportunity to upskill existing staff or bring new talent to the business and is delivered by IT professional tutors with real world industry experience.

An Information Communications Technician (ICT) provides support to internal and/or external customers, by using tools or systems to problem solve and trouble-shoot routine and non-routine problems. This occupation supports clients/customers with their systems. They achieve this through monitoring and maintaining the systems and/or platforms to maximise productivity and user experience.³

The typical duration for this qualification is 18 months, although this does not include End Point Assessment. View full standard for this apprenticeship.
